Hi,

Just enquiring about anyones viewpoint on the new Ski Sunday prog on BBC2. At least its back and for a hour. However, would like to see more racing and profiles on skiers themselves and about the resort in question. So many history and travel programes that cover history of alps etc that this bit could by shortened, ie walking through the alps. Enjoy the snowboarding and trip to Siberia and N Zealand. Not looking forward to ski tv withdraw symptoms at end of season !!

Ski on.

Hi Kevin!

Just a small remark. If you can get Swiss TV, Austrian TV, German TV and/or Eurosport in German, you can see almost every Ski World Cup Race. In Switzerland they are mostly on channel SF2 - OK all is in German language, but you get to see the races live. Also Italian state TV and French show quite some skiing from the Ski World Cup..

Hi Kev,
Well its goo dto see the BBC actually investing in skiing for a change. Not sure that I'm a 100% for the new look - it seems to be Ed Leigh and Martin Bell's excuse to travel the world on license payers money. I'll stick to Skiing on 4 for the actual racing. If they tweaked the format of Ski Sunday to become 'holiday on snow' then it might work better.

End of September so it won't be too long before "not a lot of" Ski Sunday will be back on TV. Hopefully before then Eurosport will start covering the skiing events...yaaay!

can't wait. Though i do feel that ski sunday has got more of a top gear vibe and doesn't focus on racing as much as it used to, shame.

I think this is the reason why Skiing on 4 decided to concentrate on the ski racing, it saw a hole in the market that Ski Sunday used to fill, but no longer does. Ski Sunday is more a travel programme with a bit of skiing and coverage of a bit of ski racing tacked on. Shame, as the David Vine days of "the big Austrian" were its best.
