Ski World Cup 2007/2008 - Who will make it to the overall winner in the end?
The current 2007/2008 Ski World-Cup competition is nearing its half time. Who do you think is going to be on the top of the Overall Standings in the end in Italian Bormio??
In men's part, with Svindal unfortunately out, the decision should be made out between Raich and Cuche most probably. Or will Miller get himself under control again and surprise everybody? I am hoping for Cuche, but feeling that Raich might still make it..
Among women, Vonn, Mancuso, Riesch and Hosp seem to have all quite good chances, Paerson should be also never forgotten.. I am hoping for Mancuso, but feeling that Hosp could make it again.
What do you all think?

Well, approaching the end, it looks pretty clear in men's field.., Bode Miller should be (if he remains healthy) on top in the end and if he will, it will be well deserved... What do you think?
In women's part, the cancellation of GS and SL in Zweisel this weekend might play well into the hands on Lindsay Vonn.., already Crans Montana this coming weekend might tell more..Riesch might still keep her hope if she does well there, mainly in combined..
Any other opinions.?

Well, nobody thought anything and I was somehow close, but not right on the target from the beginning, however quite close in the end, but then it was already easy.... In men's part, Bode Miller definitely got himself more and more under control (mainly in the combined events where he performed very disciplined) and made it all the way through. I would say that he is as the most complete skier a well deserved overall World Cup winner and would the downhill in Bormio not been canceled, he might have gotten his grasp (besides combined) on the small crystal for downhill as well. Cuche's calculation in the ending Super-G was surely quite a disappointment costing Cuche not only the small crystal for Super-G but most probably also the 2nd overall place... But such approach doesn't deserve anything else.. Austrians have been happy with this way won at least one small crystal.. Next season bringing also the World Championships could be definitely an interesting one!
In the women's competition Mancuso didn't get herself under control the way Bode Miller did. Instead Lindsay Vonn used finally her potential and mainly her slalom and giant slalom performances in Bormio have been impressive and a valid confirmation of her overall crown! Long time spoiled Austrians have been happy for one small crystal in the end.. Maria Riesch iwith her two small crystals is for sure the girl to watch out for next season!
Despite missing big events this season, I see it as a good one and hope for even better one in 2008/2009!
