Martin Baroch (Dr. MGB) - Life-long Skiing Fan

Martin Baroch (Dr.MGB) - I am a life-long skiing and mountain fan / enthusiast with some limited amateur racing experiences, hardened in downhill skills by ski greats Bernhard Russi and Urs Lehmann. As skier, I was born in Czech ski resort Rokytnice, taught the skiing skills by my dad Dr. Jiri (George) Baroch, former top college ski racer. Living for almost 10 years in a beautiful Swiss ski resort Leukerbad made me even more to a kind of a dedicated mountain person. Moments on the ski slopes and in the mountains of this world belong to the most enjoyable moments of my life. Also any work or cooperation with pro skiers was always a joy for me, be it working as performance coach mainly with Karin Roten and Jörg Roten or running tennis and coordination sessions with Swiss or Liechtenstein National Ski Team members. My main career is then in the tennis field. More about that can be seen at www.MyTennisWorld.net and www.mgbsports.org.

Curving the slope in a nice speed, what a great feeling (Hoch Ybrig / Switzerland)...

Photo ( Sonja Nef, Dr. MGB, Karin Roten in Tignes / France - November 1995) from the time when I worked with Swiss skier Karin Roten helping her as her performance coach and guiding her to her surprising win of a Silver Medal at the 1996 Alpine Ski World Championships in Sierra Nevada and to the position #10 in the overall standings in the 1995/96 Alpine Ski World Cup.

Bode Miller is winning again!!

Bode wins the downhill race in Bormio on Dec 29, 2007

After longer time without significant wins, Bode Miller (USA) came back today, winning the quite difficult and long downhill race in Italian Bormio!! What a great run did he show there - standing well on the skis during the entire course, taking very aggressive and straight line where only possible, he won by 0.45sec ahead of the 2nd placed Austrian Buder. Was this possible also thanks to the appointment of Swiss Fritz… Continue

Thank you, my friend!
Well, it wasn't really a surprise - and even though. I am quite surprised about all the positive and motivating reactions from the "environment".

I wish you a great summer season!

See you
Urs

It was a pretty good season, my slalom points have now dipped bellow 250, meaning i'm no longer restricted to racing hard national championships. However the last to GS races were called of due to rain... Not your average skiing weather :)

Hello Martin-
So nice to meet you. I am just a humble skier type from NH. But, don't underestimate NH, it is Bode Miller's stomping grounds! So tell me about this webpage that you have started on NING? What is your plan? Are you trying to promote your ski lodge and ski camp?

Hi Martin, so sorry to hear that you were unwell for the MySkiWorld party. What a bummer! Nothing worse than travelling somewhere and then feeling completely unable to enjoy it. I hope that you are now feeling better?
Andrew
