Having a Break in Breckenridge USA - January 1993

In late 1993 I came across a really good deal in Crystal (a UK tour company) brochure for a 14 night trip to Breckenridge, Colorado in late January 1993. I'd always fancied visiting the States and experience the US snow experience. The deal included flight, transfer, lift ticket and accommodation at a price which was too good to pass up, equivalent at the time to a week in a posh Europe ski resort. First experience of the US was passport control at Denver airport. No bored cops with desk tops s… Continue

Skiing in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Austria 2004

Dear Fellow MySkiWorlders, Another blog from me. This one recounts my experiences in Saalbach-Hinterglem in Austria in February 2004. That was a very decadent ski year for me as I had also won a weeks break to the resort of Are (Sweden) that year and would be departing little over a month later having returned from Saalbach.(see previously posted blogg) This holiday was my first for several years, having decided that I needed to get my foot on the property ladder whilst I still had a few years… Continue

A Personal View of Skiing Åre in Sweden - April 2004

For the third of my blogs I thought I’d recount my adventures skiing in Sweden in April 2004 . This holiday is a very special one for me: · I won this holiday in a completion through the British Ski Club of Great Britain (Thanks guys and proof that someone does win the competitions on their website) · My surname is an anglicised version of the Scandinavian name “Larsson” · And it was a place that I’d never really thought about as a destination to go skiing, being much indoctrinated in the who… Continue

A Personal View of Skiing in Soll Austria (2005)

The story so far:

First God created the mountains, then the snow and along came the humans and thought it would be jolly wheeze to slide down the mountains wearing long planks attached to their feet and thus skiing was born. But the hum

Hello Andrew!
Interesting profile picture. Could this be called "exhausted skier"? Will be back with you regarding your suggestion shortly. May is crazy busy for me, having one more trip to Paris for the French Open on my schedule..
Best regards,
Martin

Hiya Jennifer, great to hear from you. Not meant as personal insult...wasn't actually sure what would happen if I clicked on the stars!! (My Anti-virus system can be so tempermental on some wesbite sites -- then it's alerts boxes popping up all over the place and I start shouting at it "bad AV, bad". So I though as an experiment I'd be cautious at first!! Afterall you don't start skiing black runs on your first day :-)
And the AV was almost quiet...good sign.

Snow snow snow snow snow, wax, wax, wax, shussh, shussh, weeeee, grin, grin

Hello Andrew-
Only 2 stars? I thought my photos were better than that? Well, that's ok, I won't take it personally:) I've even added you as my friend- that is if you'd like to be friends?
So I checked your photos and videos, pretty neat stuff! Isn't it just fabulous to be a ski junkie? All that powder and fluffy stuff, I wish it snowed 365 days a year!!!
Hope that you have a nice week, and I look forward to chatting with you more...

Hi Andrew!

Just back from St. Moritz, I am glad to hear that you have had a good time in Sölden!!

This St. Moritz weekend was really disastrous for me!!! I felt sick all week long and arriving up there, I got so high fever that I had to stay the entire Saturday in BED!!! Imagine that, the conditions have been excellent. Also today, I didn't feel good enough to ski and was happy to drive home safely... Can you imagine something more disgraceful..?

My very best,

Martin
